Liliane
de Vries is a professional and personal co-active coach having trained
with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). A registered practical
nurse (RPN) since 1977, Liliane also has a certificate in Workplace
Wellness & Health Promotion.
In March of
2000 Liliane founded Steps Plus, knowing that she had the skills
and desire to impact the lives of those wanting to get past their
limitations and discover new possibilities. She started teaching
aerobics, as a certified fitness instructor, to plus-size women.
She expanded her horizons by facilitating wellness classes and workshops,
at corporations and in house, on topics such as: self-responsibility,
blood pressure, cholesterol, nutritional wellness, breast care and
stress management. She also ran health clinics in pharmacies on
women's health issues, spirometry, asthma & allergies and smoke
cessation amongst many others. Her passion to help others was clear.
She presently
coaches individuals, teams and corporate clients to discover, initiate,
pursue and fulfill their unforeseen goals. She runs workshops and
teaches fitness classes in corporations and developed a program
designed specifically for plus-size women called "From the
Inside Out". This is a 15-week program including co-active
coaching, a naturopathic doctor/registered holistic nutritionist
and a certified fitness instructor.
Liliane is personally
enjoying life, despite being a plus-size woman, and implementing
healthy choices without getting caught up in the 'diet' industry.
Her weight is no longer her primary concern but does benefit from
her attitude of healthy, balanced living. This reality brought attention
to the media and she was featured on CTV, in a documentary about
obesity with Valerie Pringle, as well as City TV with Tonya Rouse.
Her message is: by living a life of fulfillment, focusing on preventative
health, proper eating and increased physical activity, the plus-size
woman will start to re-shape herself to the best possible healthy
person she can be.
